Simplex- Blistering occurs within the epidermis. Simplex can either be inherited from one parent who has the condition or it can be caused by a spontanous mutation that occured at conception. Dominant Dystrophic- is a scarring form of EB which occurs in the deeper tissue at the level the lamina densa or upper dermis. | Recessive Dystrophic- is a scarring form of EB which occurs in the deeper tissue at the level the lamina densa or upper dermis. This form is caused by a two recessive gene's; one from each parent. Most do not know they carry this gene untill they have had a child with this condition.
Junctional- Blister formation is seen at the level of the lamina lucida within the basement membrane zone. This form is also caused by two recessive gene's; one from each parent.
